Shellfish allergy

The Seafood allergy is a kind of food allergy. It is a hypersensitivity to the dietary substances like the shellfish, scaly fish or crustaceans. If one is suffering from this kind of problem, it is strongly recommended to avoid this food and also the food that contains the shellfish is probably the best way to prevent any kind of reaction.

If is also necessary for the doctor to identify the exact cause of the allergy. Once sorted out it is essential to eliminate that particular type of shellfish from the diet. Apart from the doctor’s suggestion we can also use some of our common sense like not eating where the fried foods are prepared specially if fish and shellfish are on the menu. It is also essential to stay away from all kind of shelled fish – crab, lobster, shrimp and snails.
Sometime without our knowledge we may also consume the imitation shellfish which may contain the shellfish as it helps in enhancing the flavor of the food, it is essential to check the label of the container before consuming such foods.
