What is gluten

If a person were to look within many homes and bakeries across the world, they would find Gluten as a primary ingredient utilized by the house maker and baker alike. This product, aptly named for its root meaning from the Latin word meaning ‘glue’, forms the basis for which the dough that is created in the kitchen is given its elasticity and its ability to rise. The rather soft, chewy like textures found in breads are again, the result of the presence of gluten. Thus, it is a very important feature in homes and bakeries ever where for the perfect slice of bread that comprises your sandwiches.

Dairy intolerance

Millions of people world-wide awake each morning and have cereal with milk prior to starting their day or enjoy milk with tea, coffee and like having a cold ice cream cone on a hot, sunny day. The reality for millions of others is that milk is the last thing that they could even consider having with a meal or in a beverage owing to a condition known as the state of being ‘lactose inteolerant.’ The figures for those who are afflicted with this condition are staggering. It is estimated that about fifty million Americans alone live with this condition and the rates within Africa, Asia and South America approach nearly one-hundred percent.

Nut allergies

A common form of allergy that affects millions of people globally is that of allergies to tree nuts. This is characterized by extreme sensitivity to products created in part with tree nuts that generates an extreme reaction in a person’s immune system. The resulting physical symptoms from this hypersensitivity can be mild or extreme and can hospitalize or cause death. Examples of tree nuts are walnuts, Brazil nuts, pistachios, chestnuts, pecans, cashews, macadamia nuts, pine nuts and hazelnuts. There are rare instances of allergies of one person to many if not all forms of nuts available and as a safety precaution they are advised to avoid any and all nuts available. For the majority though, this is not the issue even though some proteins in nuts to which one is allergic to is present in nuts to which they are not allergic to. Increased sensitization to any nuts will occur with prolonged exposure to the particular nut generating variations of allergic reactions from mild to extreme symptoms.

Glucose intolerance

Pineapple allergy
